The journey to the 33rd African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2021) has been a tough one mar with challenges including the COVID-19 which prompted the tournament to be moved from 2021 to January 2022 in Cameroon as well as some Europe clubs threatening and in some cases succeeding in releasing players for the tournament.
Today AFCON 2021 has finally started at the Olembe Stadium in the capital of Cameroon with a colourful opening ceremony featuring dances and songs as well as the opening match between the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon and the Stallions of Burkina Faso.
With a full capacity stadium and the Group A match underway, all eyes will be watching Cameroon today and all eyes on Africa.
