Akwa-Ibom Discharges Three COVID-19 Patients

Three COVID-19 patients have been discharged in Akwa Ibom State, having fully recovered following treatment at the Isolation Centre in Ibom Specialist Hospital, Uyo.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Dominic Ukpong disclosed this in Uyo, the state capital, on Wednesday.

Ukpong added that three confirmed cases who are contacts of the index cases are still being treated in the state and currently under the watch of the Akwa Ibom State COVID-19 medical response team.

Akwa Ibom, like some other states, has been in lockdown to halt the spread of the Coronavirus.

The state governor, Udom Emmanuel last week announced a total lockdown of the state and noted that this was the important following announcement by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) confirming five positive COVID-19 cases in the state.
